Ready for Adoption
Ms. Oink
Ms. Oink
Ms. Oink came from the Colorado Springs area and is a LOVE.
She weighs approx. 55/60 pounds
Female coming 2 years old
Loves belly rubs, ears scratched, and just to be part of the family.
She is SUPPOSE to be spayed. We have noticed since we have her several times a bit of swelling and have not been able to detect a scar on her stomach. We have been trying to reach the prior owner for Veterinarian Conformation of the spay. This will have to be confirmed before she is adopted.
She spends time outside in all types of weather, but at night she is brought into the vet room or “mud” room off the house and kennel for the night. She sleeps 10 to 12 hours in the kennel. She loves cats and “tolerates ” the new
border collie puppy trying to head her” to turn around.
She has never had an accident in the house or kennel. She is current on all shots but will have a “Mycoplasma pneumonia shot” before leaving for a new home.
Ms. Molly
Ms. Molly
Ms. Molly is a Juliana pig also know as a potbelly pig. She is Gray and black and very friendly, but also very "Bossy" with other potbelly pigs or dogs.
She is Apx. 2 years old. very well mannered, housebroken, loves the outside & loves to ride in the truck. She is spayed She weighs approx. 65/70 pounds and current on all shots. She will have a Mycoplasma pneumonia shot when she is placed.
She scratches herself in the snow and shares a community hut with 2 other larger pigs.
She has a "buddy" Little Man" who travels everywhere with her. She also came from the Colorado Springs area. We have a representative who will be able to answer questions about her if you are interested.
When she is in Vet Room she does use the litter box or goes to the door to be let outside. We would like to place her and "Little Man" together if possible since they are 100% bonded. She does NOT like bigger dogs
If interested in Ms. Molly, please send an email to pigasus.org. We will forward you to our Colorado Springs Representative and she will contact you.
Little Man
Little Man
Little Man came to us stunted, starved, and full of mites and ticks. Thanks to a very alert school teacher, she was able to save him. We were contacted and worked with her to get him treated in the Denver/Golden area, to the point that he could be transported to us.
When he arrived, he even after vet treatment was one of the worse case of "Mini pig abuse" we had ever seen. We immediately took him to our vet and developed an eating program and health program for him. Then we had another "Angel" in rescue step in and wanted to do something to help him. She has 100% paid for all his medical and also Started a legacy of the "Abused Mini-Pig" for Education.
We are still not 100% sure of letting him for adoption. He will have to go to a very SPECIAL home with Restrictions. Since he began to gain weight and to become healthy, he was adopted by MS. Molly who very seldom
lets him out of her sight.
We are thinking that this may have to be a 2 pig adoption.
He has been given a clean bill of health when he arrived he weighed 13 pounds and now he is a "Whooping" 55 pounds. We had to let him grown very slowly and he has reached his MAXIMUM weight. His legs have grown to support his weight but will not hold more. His intestines have started to develop from the stunted stage to normal. He loves to run and play with the other pigs.
If you are interested in the adoption of a "Special Needs" Potbelly let us know, but please remember he has been abused 1 time, and with the help of 2 other wonderful people who opened their hearts and wallets and a very special companion, Ms. Molly, he is now pretty normal.
PS: In case you are wondering, Little Man, is the small white with a blackhead on the right, Hammey is the also mini pig who grew on the right. We tell "Little Man" look in the mirror, this is what you should have looked like!~!~"

Ready for Adoption
I adopted your pet today...
Dedicated to all the wonderful pets who have come through rescue, the rescuers and volunteers along the road to life, and to all the unselfish and loving adopters who open their hearts and homes to one of these innocents.....
Her eyes met mine as she walked thru the Pig-A-Sus, peering apprehensively into the pens. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I swished my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn’t be afraid. As she stopped at my side I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my pen. I didn’t want her to know that I hadn’t been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn’t want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my profile card I hoped that she wouldn’t feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone’s life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against her legs to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my hoof to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my pen gate opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped to her side.
I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down to visit. So many more are out there who haven’t visited the Pig-A-Sus. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one.
I rescued a human today.Author unknown,

We thought that the following needed to be published so we don’t forget that pets are family too.
Dedicated to all the wonderful pets who have come through rescue, the rescuers and volunteers along the road to life, and to all the unselfish and loving adopters who open their hearts and homes to one of these innocents…..
The one you left at the pound;
The one you had for ten years
And no longer wanted around.
I adopted your pet today…
Did you know that he’s lost weight?
Did you know he’s scared and depressed
And seems to have lost all faith
I adopted your pet today…
He had fleas and a little cold;
Guess you don’t care what shape he’s in
You abandoned him I am told.
I adopted your pet today…
Were you having a baby or moving away?
Did you suddenly develop allergies,
Or was there NO reason he couldn’t stay
I adopted your pet today…
He doesn’t play or even eat much;
I guess he’s very sad inside and
It’ll take time for him to trust.
I adopted your pet today…
And here he is going to stay;
He’s found his FOREVER home
And a warm bed in which to lay. I adopted your pet today…
And shall give him all that he will need
Patience, love, and security,
So he can forget your selfish deed.
